A new website appearing this week is Deltacamera.com. No contact information, other than 877-283-7747, and the “About Us” page isn’t even done:
Company Name
Company Slogan
History of company, mission statement, etc
By cutting and pasting some of their code into Google, I can confirm that these are the same criminals that operate bigcameradeals.com. Read the reviews here, and avoid these guys at all cost.

I placed a phone order for an 880 garmin which the rep, Dave, advised came with a 2007 map. Among the updates he pushed was a 2009 map for $130 which he assured me would be installed. The unit arrive with a "bundled deal" invoice total. It was obvious the box had not not even been opened. I have advised Amex to reduce payment to them by $130.00.
I found Delta camera while comparing prices online, One week before my big trip I ordered a camera and paid extra to make sure it would be here within 3 days.
They called me the next day and tried to sell me extras and then said when I would'nt go for it that they would ship my order? (It should have already been shipped!
It's 5 days later, I leave tomarrow and still no camera. I checked the website and they now have me listed as "Backordered" I cancelled my order! I'm going to Best Buy or somewhere Solid!
I agree. deltacamera.com is a ripoff. We ordered a camera and the next day they called me asking if I wanted to buy the battery for it and some accessories. They said they'd only charge me $100 more. Well come to find out all the accessories they wanted to sell me come with the camera from factory! I told them no to just send me the camera and they said it was on backorder and I wouldn't get it for 4-5 weeks. But if I ordered it today with the accessories I'd get it 4 days. I started questioning that and the guy gave me some smart response about how I can cancel my order it don't make any difference to him, he'd still be a millionaire. I laughed and told him yeah a millionaire making cold calls? Needless to say I canceled the order... so I guess he got his wish.
I placed an order for a Canon camera. Right after they called me and said that they had to confirm the order. They needed the 3 digit code on the back of my credit card. They then told me that the battery in the camera would only last 20 minutes and they would sell me a 4 hour battery. I am new to digital photography. I called Canon and they said their batteries they put in with the camera last 3 hours. I called back to cancel since I knew I was being scammed. They told me they already shipped-I said I ordered 5 minutes ago. Then they said there would be a restocking fee. I told them if they charged anything I would cancel from my credit card. Sure enough 3 days later my card was charged as CABLEVISION-can you believe for $267. Disgusting thieves, stay away from this slim.
Yes, Delta Camera is a scam. What we used to call a "BAIT AND SWITCH" operation. They do not deliver at the advertised price posted unless they can sell you more stuff to go with it !
DELTA CAMERA IS THE SAME AS ELITCAMERCORDERS/ALLSTARCAEMRA/ONTIMEDIGITAL AND CAMERAPROS I RECEIVED A PACKAGE FROM THEM WITH THE ADDRESS OF 1151 MCDONALD AVE AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE I FOUND OUT ITS THE SAME COMPANY BUYER BEWARE
I have a similar story to Will. Canon D10 camera. Kevin called me (a funky number 180-000-000 should have tipped me off) and told me the battery that came with was only a "20 minute battery." I bought the 5 hour battery and warranty, thought to myself "this doesn't seem right," found this site and quickly called them back to cancel. Of course, the customer service extension was "closed" (it was noon) so I called the order placement line. Sure enough, multiple attempts to add warranty deals, batteries, memory cards, etc.
I told them I just wanted the camera advertised on the web, with no extra warranty or battery, and they then told me that the one advertised (Bait) was a gray market good (they initially called it an import model) and that the one they were going to charge an extra 100 bucks for was the regular "American" model. Not such a good deal any more versus a reputable site.
As soon as I heard "import" and completely confirmed what was going on, I said I wanted to cancel my whole order.
Answer: 25% restocking fee.
NOPE. I just called you 5 minutes ago.
Answer: $125 cancellation fee.
NOPE. Nothing anywhere on your website says anything about a restocking/cancellation fee. Answer: We have you on recording as authorizing the transaction.
NICE TRY - I have you on the same recording materially misrepresenting the goods you are selling.
ANSWER: [offers to cut the price, adds more memory cards, tripods, etc.]
NOPE. Cancel the order and do not charge a cancellation fee or I was challenge it through AMEX.
Answer: Is that a threat?
NOPE. I am just telling you that I expect to see no charges from you on my credit card and will challenge anything I do see.
Answer: Fine, we will cancel the order and there will be no charges.
Delta Camera is a scam, a fraud, a bait-and-switch house of lies.
You guys are right. Delta.com guys did exacly the same thing with me. After going through your review's I realize that this is their way of doing business. Advertize low price and then try to sell the accessories and if the guy takes it, that good, if the person refuses then, tell them that the order had been put on Backorder and thet point they are not interested in selling the product to you and are interested in your cancelled order.
I found Delta while searching for Nikon P80. they had the best price on the camera, but of course I had to by accessories. The $165 camera ended up totaling over $400. I was promised upgraded 2nd day shipping because I told them I needed the camera ASAP for a trip. The camera never arrived as promised. It was a hassle to even get a tracking num. I eventually contacted AmEx to cancel payment and dispute the charges. Delta's response to all of this was "that's your problem." Avoid them.
Go figure... I wish I had found this website prior to placing my order... i just placed it about 10 minutes ago (a canon sd970IS)... i immediately received a call from (800)-000-000... it was a guy confirming my shipping address, it seemed legit... he tried to sell me some accessories which i then told him i was not interested in any... then come the whole battery only lasts for 20 minutes story... ive owned 2 canon cameras prior to this and know this not to be true... when i told him i wasnt interested at buying another battery at the moment, he asked me how i was going to use the camera after the battery ran out... i told him that id cross that bridge if it came, but that ive never had a "20-minute" battery life with a canon... he then tells me that the camera doesnt come with a battery charger... omg, the guy was so rude and annoying that i cancelled my order immediately over the phone, then the guy starts humming and says "ok goodbye"... very creepy experience and im a little paranoid now about them having my credit card number... THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM!!! BEWARE
Scam! I just canceled my credit card after they called me...same story...I placed the order last night and paid a fair price for the camera--$145 for a Canon SD1100 digital elph. This morning a rude man called to confirm my shipping address, tried rudely and aggressively to sell me a memory card, battery, extended warranty, and cable. I said no to all, and he asked me how I was going to use the camera if I didn't have those things. I said my sister has the same camera and I wasn't born yesterday. The whole time I could hear someone else in the background placing a similar call. I tried to file a complaint with the BBB but it didn't work. BEWARE.
Just to let you all know...
If you click on the "Security Verification" logo on the main page, it opens up a window that identifies the company as Delta Camera at 1002 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, NY 11223.
This address is a deli...
It's also Henry's Digital Online aka henrysdigitalonline.com.
Delta Camera = Scam
I encourage everyone to post check out resellerratings.com and post your experiences, because as of now they have good ratings there (albeit just a few).
Everything that was said in about everyone of these comments happened to me. The man that called me after I placed my order was very rude after I told him I just wanted the camera and nothing else. Actually he became abusive. I have cancelled my order and I have been in contact with my credit card co so they can monitor my credit.
Thank you so much for making this blog, you saved me just in time for a possible headache and scam.
Oh no! I ordered a camera from them last week and under my order status is says processing even though they stated it ships in 24-48 hours. Now I don't know what to do? Call my credit card company to cancel the transaction? I definitely will contact the company, my credit card, and the better business bureau!
i'm so very glad i found this blog... i was just fixing to order a nikon d90 from deltacamera.com I called them yesterday to ask some questions before ordering. When i question the whole 20 min battery thing and said i could get it cheaper from local camera store, he got rude and angery with me. I told him I only wanted the camera he put me on hold and never came back on the line. So I was gonna try again today but needed the phone # again so i googled them and found this instead and i'm very glad i did!!!
Thanks for the tips! I appreciate the reviews. I was considering placing an order on a product with a price that seemed too good to be true.
Thank you for posting this blog...I almost was ready to check out and go nervous and googled the name...glad I cancelled the order!!
i was just about to click "complete order" or something like that when i decided to open a different window and google their name. just a hunch. the website looked kinda 90's and the price was too good to be true. Thank goodness i found this site!! although the whole thing is over already my heart is still racing...
The address is a phony one. Go to google/maps and lookup the address 1002 Quentin RD. and go to street view and you will see that it's a Bakery Store :)
So funny.
I am so happy I found this blog as I was about to purchase at Delta Camera...thanks for info guys!
Thanks to all for a good "heads up"...I got curious when they only listed as a sponsored link rather than as a result of a google search. Also checked BBB @ brooklyn, ny but found no complaints noted. SCARY
Customer service and the people who pick-up the phone was very rude. I have placed and order for Canon Powershot and after 3 days I called to check why the order is not shipped, then I was told that they are out of stock and I immediately cancelled my order and took out my credit card details.
Above all when I google map to look at there address, I found out the the address what deltacamera had list is of a Jewish Grocery store...BE AWARE OF THIS>>>>>>
Just got ripped off too! Wound up paying $93 more for my camera to get the battery and charger that come in the box! Called them and finally got through to a live person. Told me the camera I ordered was a "wholesale package", in other words, without the battery and charger. He said my extra charge upgraded me to the "Retail package", the way the damn thing comes in the box from the manufacturer. Too late for me. The camera's delivered and I'll have to pay a 15% minimum restocking fee to send it back. According to Johnathan, manager of customer service, it's all printed in bold, black and white on the web site (buried at the end of their Privacy Policy!). Too late for me, but STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!!! Jonathan ended by laughing at me and telling me that it hasn't worth the small profit they made on my camera (RIGHT!) to sell to someone like me!
Wow, I'm so glad I read this blog. I ordered a Nikon S60 for $169.99, and I thought I caught a good deal... I made the order, called the number that is provided on top, and I first noticed I was on hold for like 15mins the very first time I called. Ok, no big deal I thought. They had very good deals on many things, so assumed they are busy people. The guy that finally answered was very unfriendly. I was surprised because that was the FIRST time that happened to me on a online order. Ok, but I still went ahead and ordered. He asked if I wanted some batteries, but I said no. He didn't argue about it. I called them today around 2pm. Accordingly to the site, they are open at that time, but I received a "Business is currently closed" I found this blog because that sounded like shit and I got nervous. I wanted to check my status, so I checked the order status. I noticed it said "Order status: Backordered" I was like ok... I just called them yesterday! I immediately canceled the order, and I will tell my bank to block that particular transaction in case that these idiots still have a chance to charge me. I hope nothing will happen.
P.S. The scary thing is I also found this website on the bottom of walmart.com!!! That is how I found this scam-site:/
I want to thank all of you for taking the time to post these comments. I was so close to ordering a GPS from this company, but being that I had never heard of DelatCamera.com I decided at the last minute to research their reputation. WOW!! Am I glad I did!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
i was just about to order a camera from this place, when i decided to google their reviews. a hunch, i guess (the price was too good to be true). thank god i found this site and reviews from all of you.
So sad. Ordered a camera for $139 (about $100 less than local stores) and order was "Processing.." for a couple days. Did not receive a phone call but went back and checked my order, I transposed my numbers so they couldn't call to scam me. After reading this blog I cancelled my order, called my credit card company, and sent them negative feedback.
Thank you people for posting this up. I was just about to make a big mistake and buy from them.Going to Best Buy instead.
bobbyearl back again. After disputing the $130 scam charge with Amex, because I have been with Amex for 50 years they credited my account. Bottom line is that Delta did, in fact, convince Amex their charge was legitimate. With over 120 blogs posted isn't there a way we can mount a class action challenge to eradicate this predator?
TERRIBLE!! Ordered camera on internet. i called next day to confirm. Was given incorrect information about what was shipped with camera (batteries/charger). They then tried to sell me upgrade batteries/charger for a ridiculous price. The salesman and then the manager were totally uninterested in the resulting concern I voiced to them. BAD VIBES!! Does not surprise me they rate 2.5 out of 10. I'm glad I canceled before any other problems.
Thanks to everyone! You all just saved me a lot of trouble. I wont be ordering from them. The scary part is that I found their link on Amazon!
Thanks for this post and all the comments. I was just searching for a home theater projector (Optoma HD65) and found them through Google (sponsored ads). They sure have the lowest price which is too good to be true. So I searched their company and this page showed up.
Thank you again!
Definitely a scam. I received the e-mail stating that they needed to confirm my order. When I call they have me waiting for 30 minutes. I finally talk to someone who basically tells me that I need certain items to make the camera work. My $233 camera cost me $478. I'm an idiot, but hopefully I can save someone from being one too.
Thanks for all the reports here. I almost bought a camera from these guys - was lured in with a low price in a google ad (a price too good to be true - $100+ lower than walmart on a Canon G11). I am in Canada and the hassle of brokerage and customs slowed me down (nay, saved me).
You good folks in the USA should alert the NY Attorney General's office at 1-800-771-7755 and ask them to launch an investigation and action into the apparent fraud and/or illegal practices being committed by this operation. As well, you may want to contact the the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection at 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357) - I would encourage all of you who have had bad experiences to call - FTC will see the pattern and that will help them possibly take action(see the website http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/contact.shtm) These Delta Camera scammers should be caught by federal law as tehy are clearly selling across state lines and also internationally.
I am a lawyer and it irks me when jerks like this try to take advantage of people. Use the law to shut 'em down.
Good luck shutting them down.
I am a little surprised about all these complaints and then I find out that nobody has left complaints with the Better Business Bureau either - there is nothing more powerful than complaints to the organizations that can make a difference????
Their record is clean for three years!! http://www.bbb.org/new-york-city/business-reviews/photographic-equipment-and-supplies-retail/delta-camera-in-brooklyn-ny-109437/#cmpl
SCAM!!!...... I placed an order for Garmin 855 GPS. I was asked to call for "Confirmations". Their sales told me that the unit did not come with the battery ($40). Then he told me that I will need to buy " Map Set" as it was extra $150. He was very rude and cancelled my order when I refused to buy yht extras.
I purchased a Canon A1000, best price I could find for this higly rated camera. I should have listened to my inner voice when I received a call telling me I "needed" to order the battery charger. The caller said the camera would not work with regular AA batteries, odd in that they came with the camera. I received the camera and charger but will not recommend or use Delta again. They also use the name All State Electronics.
