A new website appearing this week is Deltacamera.com. No contact information, other than 877-283-7747, and the “About Us” page isn’t even done:

By cutting and pasting some of their code into Google, I can confirm that these are the same criminals that operate bigcameradeals.com. Read the reviews here, and avoid these guys at all cost.
UPDATE: DECEMBER 2, 2009. Not to say I told you so, but I told you so. Read the reselleratings reviews here. Delta Camera needs to be shut down for fraudulent actvities.

I placed a phone order for an 880 garmin which the rep, Dave, advised came with a 2007 map. Among the updates he pushed was a 2009 map for $130 which he assured me would be installed. The unit arrive with a "bundled deal" invoice total. It was obvious the box had not not even been opened. I have advised Amex to reduce payment to them by $130.00.
I found Delta camera while comparing prices online, One week before my big trip I ordered a camera and paid extra to make sure it would be here within 3 days.
They called me the next day and tried to sell me extras and then said when I would'nt go for it that they would ship my order? (It should have already been shipped!
It's 5 days later, I leave tomarrow and still no camera. I checked the website and they now have me listed as "Backordered" I cancelled my order! I'm going to Best Buy or somewhere Solid!
I agree. deltacamera.com is a ripoff. We ordered a camera and the next day they called me asking if I wanted to buy the battery for it and some accessories. They said they'd only charge me $100 more. Well come to find out all the accessories they wanted to sell me come with the camera from factory! I told them no to just send me the camera and they said it was on backorder and I wouldn't get it for 4-5 weeks. But if I ordered it today with the accessories I'd get it 4 days. I started questioning that and the guy gave me some smart response about how I can cancel my order it don't make any difference to him, he'd still be a millionaire. I laughed and told him yeah a millionaire making cold calls? Needless to say I canceled the order... so I guess he got his wish.
I placed an order for a Canon camera. Right after they called me and said that they had to confirm the order. They needed the 3 digit code on the back of my credit card. They then told me that the battery in the camera would only last 20 minutes and they would sell me a 4 hour battery. I am new to digital photography. I called Canon and they said their batteries they put in with the camera last 3 hours. I called back to cancel since I knew I was being scammed. They told me they already shipped-I said I ordered 5 minutes ago. Then they said there would be a restocking fee. I told them if they charged anything I would cancel from my credit card. Sure enough 3 days later my card was charged as CABLEVISION-can you believe for $267. Disgusting thieves, stay away from this slim.
Yes, Delta Camera is a scam. What we used to call a "BAIT AND SWITCH" operation. They do not deliver at the advertised price posted unless they can sell you more stuff to go with it !
DELTA CAMERA IS THE SAME AS ELITCAMERCORDERS/ALLSTARCAEMRA/ONTIMEDIGITAL AND CAMERAPROS I RECEIVED A PACKAGE FROM THEM WITH THE ADDRESS OF 1151 MCDONALD AVE AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE I FOUND OUT ITS THE SAME COMPANY BUYER BEWARE
I have a similar story to Will. Canon D10 camera. Kevin called me (a funky number 180-000-000 should have tipped me off) and told me the battery that came with was only a "20 minute battery." I bought the 5 hour battery and warranty, thought to myself "this doesn't seem right," found this site and quickly called them back to cancel. Of course, the customer service extension was "closed" (it was noon) so I called the order placement line. Sure enough, multiple attempts to add warranty deals, batteries, memory cards, etc.
I told them I just wanted the camera advertised on the web, with no extra warranty or battery, and they then told me that the one advertised (Bait) was a gray market good (they initially called it an import model) and that the one they were going to charge an extra 100 bucks for was the regular "American" model. Not such a good deal any more versus a reputable site.
As soon as I heard "import" and completely confirmed what was going on, I said I wanted to cancel my whole order.
Answer: 25% restocking fee.
NOPE. I just called you 5 minutes ago.
Answer: $125 cancellation fee.
NOPE. Nothing anywhere on your website says anything about a restocking/cancellation fee. Answer: We have you on recording as authorizing the transaction.
NICE TRY - I have you on the same recording materially misrepresenting the goods you are selling.
ANSWER: [offers to cut the price, adds more memory cards, tripods, etc.]
NOPE. Cancel the order and do not charge a cancellation fee or I was challenge it through AMEX.
Answer: Is that a threat?
NOPE. I am just telling you that I expect to see no charges from you on my credit card and will challenge anything I do see.
Answer: Fine, we will cancel the order and there will be no charges.
Delta Camera is a scam, a fraud, a bait-and-switch house of lies.
You guys are right. Delta.com guys did exacly the same thing with me. After going through your review's I realize that this is their way of doing business. Advertize low price and then try to sell the accessories and if the guy takes it, that good, if the person refuses then, tell them that the order had been put on Backorder and thet point they are not interested in selling the product to you and are interested in your cancelled order.
I found Delta while searching for Nikon P80. they had the best price on the camera, but of course I had to by accessories. The $165 camera ended up totaling over $400. I was promised upgraded 2nd day shipping because I told them I needed the camera ASAP for a trip. The camera never arrived as promised. It was a hassle to even get a tracking num. I eventually contacted AmEx to cancel payment and dispute the charges. Delta's response to all of this was "that's your problem." Avoid them.
Go figure... I wish I had found this website prior to placing my order... i just placed it about 10 minutes ago (a canon sd970IS)... i immediately received a call from (800)-000-000... it was a guy confirming my shipping address, it seemed legit... he tried to sell me some accessories which i then told him i was not interested in any... then come the whole battery only lasts for 20 minutes story... ive owned 2 canon cameras prior to this and know this not to be true... when i told him i wasnt interested at buying another battery at the moment, he asked me how i was going to use the camera after the battery ran out... i told him that id cross that bridge if it came, but that ive never had a "20-minute" battery life with a canon... he then tells me that the camera doesnt come with a battery charger... omg, the guy was so rude and annoying that i cancelled my order immediately over the phone, then the guy starts humming and says "ok goodbye"... very creepy experience and im a little paranoid now about them having my credit card number... THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM!!! BEWARE
Scam! I just canceled my credit card after they called me...same story...I placed the order last night and paid a fair price for the camera--$145 for a Canon SD1100 digital elph. This morning a rude man called to confirm my shipping address, tried rudely and aggressively to sell me a memory card, battery, extended warranty, and cable. I said no to all, and he asked me how I was going to use the camera if I didn't have those things. I said my sister has the same camera and I wasn't born yesterday. The whole time I could hear someone else in the background placing a similar call. I tried to file a complaint with the BBB but it didn't work. BEWARE.
Just to let you all know...
If you click on the "Security Verification" logo on the main page, it opens up a window that identifies the company as Delta Camera at 1002 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, NY 11223.
This address is a deli...
It's also Henry's Digital Online aka henrysdigitalonline.com.
Delta Camera = Scam
I encourage everyone to post check out resellerratings.com and post your experiences, because as of now they have good ratings there (albeit just a few).
Everything that was said in about everyone of these comments happened to me. The man that called me after I placed my order was very rude after I told him I just wanted the camera and nothing else. Actually he became abusive. I have cancelled my order and I have been in contact with my credit card co so they can monitor my credit.
Thank you so much for making this blog, you saved me just in time for a possible headache and scam.
Oh no! I ordered a camera from them last week and under my order status is says processing even though they stated it ships in 24-48 hours. Now I don't know what to do? Call my credit card company to cancel the transaction? I definitely will contact the company, my credit card, and the better business bureau!
i'm so very glad i found this blog... i was just fixing to order a nikon d90 from deltacamera.com I called them yesterday to ask some questions before ordering. When i question the whole 20 min battery thing and said i could get it cheaper from local camera store, he got rude and angery with me. I told him I only wanted the camera he put me on hold and never came back on the line. So I was gonna try again today but needed the phone # again so i googled them and found this instead and i'm very glad i did!!!
Thanks for the tips! I appreciate the reviews. I was considering placing an order on a product with a price that seemed too good to be true.
Thank you for posting this blog...I almost was ready to check out and go nervous and googled the name...glad I cancelled the order!!
i was just about to click "complete order" or something like that when i decided to open a different window and google their name. just a hunch. the website looked kinda 90's and the price was too good to be true. Thank goodness i found this site!! although the whole thing is over already my heart is still racing...
The address is a phony one. Go to google/maps and lookup the address 1002 Quentin RD. and go to street view and you will see that it's a Bakery Store :)
So funny.
I am so happy I found this blog as I was about to purchase at Delta Camera...thanks for info guys!
Thanks to all for a good "heads up"...I got curious when they only listed as a sponsored link rather than as a result of a google search. Also checked BBB @ brooklyn, ny but found no complaints noted. SCARY
Customer service and the people who pick-up the phone was very rude. I have placed and order for Canon Powershot and after 3 days I called to check why the order is not shipped, then I was told that they are out of stock and I immediately cancelled my order and took out my credit card details.
Above all when I google map to look at there address, I found out the the address what deltacamera had list is of a Jewish Grocery store...BE AWARE OF THIS>>>>>>
Just got ripped off too! Wound up paying $93 more for my camera to get the battery and charger that come in the box! Called them and finally got through to a live person. Told me the camera I ordered was a "wholesale package", in other words, without the battery and charger. He said my extra charge upgraded me to the "Retail package", the way the damn thing comes in the box from the manufacturer. Too late for me. The camera's delivered and I'll have to pay a 15% minimum restocking fee to send it back. According to Johnathan, manager of customer service, it's all printed in bold, black and white on the web site (buried at the end of their Privacy Policy!). Too late for me, but STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!!! Jonathan ended by laughing at me and telling me that it hasn't worth the small profit they made on my camera (RIGHT!) to sell to someone like me!
Wow, I'm so glad I read this blog. I ordered a Nikon S60 for $169.99, and I thought I caught a good deal... I made the order, called the number that is provided on top, and I first noticed I was on hold for like 15mins the very first time I called. Ok, no big deal I thought. They had very good deals on many things, so assumed they are busy people. The guy that finally answered was very unfriendly. I was surprised because that was the FIRST time that happened to me on a online order. Ok, but I still went ahead and ordered. He asked if I wanted some batteries, but I said no. He didn't argue about it. I called them today around 2pm. Accordingly to the site, they are open at that time, but I received a "Business is currently closed" I found this blog because that sounded like shit and I got nervous. I wanted to check my status, so I checked the order status. I noticed it said "Order status: Backordered" I was like ok... I just called them yesterday! I immediately canceled the order, and I will tell my bank to block that particular transaction in case that these idiots still have a chance to charge me. I hope nothing will happen.
P.S. The scary thing is I also found this website on the bottom of walmart.com!!! That is how I found this scam-site:/
I want to thank all of you for taking the time to post these comments. I was so close to ordering a GPS from this company, but being that I had never heard of DelatCamera.com I decided at the last minute to research their reputation. WOW!! Am I glad I did!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
i was just about to order a camera from this place, when i decided to google their reviews. a hunch, i guess (the price was too good to be true). thank god i found this site and reviews from all of you.
So sad. Ordered a camera for $139 (about $100 less than local stores) and order was "Processing.." for a couple days. Did not receive a phone call but went back and checked my order, I transposed my numbers so they couldn't call to scam me. After reading this blog I cancelled my order, called my credit card company, and sent them negative feedback.
Thank you people for posting this up. I was just about to make a big mistake and buy from them.Going to Best Buy instead.
bobbyearl back again. After disputing the $130 scam charge with Amex, because I have been with Amex for 50 years they credited my account. Bottom line is that Delta did, in fact, convince Amex their charge was legitimate. With over 120 blogs posted isn't there a way we can mount a class action challenge to eradicate this predator?
TERRIBLE!! Ordered camera on internet. i called next day to confirm. Was given incorrect information about what was shipped with camera (batteries/charger). They then tried to sell me upgrade batteries/charger for a ridiculous price. The salesman and then the manager were totally uninterested in the resulting concern I voiced to them. BAD VIBES!! Does not surprise me they rate 2.5 out of 10. I'm glad I canceled before any other problems.
Thanks to everyone! You all just saved me a lot of trouble. I wont be ordering from them. The scary part is that I found their link on Amazon!
Thanks for this post and all the comments. I was just searching for a home theater projector (Optoma HD65) and found them through Google (sponsored ads). They sure have the lowest price which is too good to be true. So I searched their company and this page showed up.
Thank you again!
Definitely a scam. I received the e-mail stating that they needed to confirm my order. When I call they have me waiting for 30 minutes. I finally talk to someone who basically tells me that I need certain items to make the camera work. My $233 camera cost me $478. I'm an idiot, but hopefully I can save someone from being one too.
Thanks for all the reports here. I almost bought a camera from these guys - was lured in with a low price in a google ad (a price too good to be true - $100+ lower than walmart on a Canon G11). I am in Canada and the hassle of brokerage and customs slowed me down (nay, saved me).
You good folks in the USA should alert the NY Attorney General's office at 1-800-771-7755 and ask them to launch an investigation and action into the apparent fraud and/or illegal practices being committed by this operation. As well, you may want to contact the the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection at 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357) - I would encourage all of you who have had bad experiences to call - FTC will see the pattern and that will help them possibly take action(see the website http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/contact.shtm) These Delta Camera scammers should be caught by federal law as tehy are clearly selling across state lines and also internationally.
I am a lawyer and it irks me when jerks like this try to take advantage of people. Use the law to shut 'em down.
Good luck shutting them down.
I am a little surprised about all these complaints and then I find out that nobody has left complaints with the Better Business Bureau either - there is nothing more powerful than complaints to the organizations that can make a difference????
Their record is clean for three years!! http://www.bbb.org/new-york-city/business-reviews/photographic-equipment-and-supplies-retail/delta-camera-in-brooklyn-ny-109437/#cmpl
SCAM!!!...... I placed an order for Garmin 855 GPS. I was asked to call for "Confirmations". Their sales told me that the unit did not come with the battery ($40). Then he told me that I will need to buy " Map Set" as it was extra $150. He was very rude and cancelled my order when I refused to buy yht extras.
I purchased a Canon A1000, best price I could find for this higly rated camera. I should have listened to my inner voice when I received a call telling me I "needed" to order the battery charger. The caller said the camera would not work with regular AA batteries, odd in that they came with the camera. I received the camera and charger but will not recommend or use Delta again. They also use the name All State Electronics.
Thank you everyone for your posts. I was ready to place an order for a Canon G11 at $100+ cheaper than retail. Thank goodness I did a little research and found this site!
OMG, my story is too long to even write out! They are scammers!! They lied repeatedly to me when I asked for a tracking number. They charged my VISA over a week before it shipped. They shipped it in a Frito's box even though they said it was shipping directly from the manufacture. AVOID AT ALL COST. Go to Best Buy or another physical store. You'll pay a little more, but in the end, you'll save hours of stress and trouble.
Thank you all so much. I was just about to buy from these guys, but the price was so low it rang my skeptic bell so I checked here first. This has again confirmed my belief that a healthy skepticism is a must in today's world and how valuable the internet is for discovering the truth about things. Sorry you had your problems, but thanks to you, they won't get another victim.
Same story as everyone else here. I should have known when they wanted me to call & "confirm" the order. Found this blog & panicked! They don't make canceling your order easy. CitiCard says they cannot help until any charge appears. Then I can challenge it.
"If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is...."
I panicked when I read this blog! I had the same bad experience with Delta Camera as everyone else when I ordered a Canon D10. CitiCard can't help until the charge appears. Delta does not make it easy to cancel your order. "If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is."
I ordered canon camera and was told that it will ship in 6 days. I called up after two days to check my order they said its backordered. They should not list price and availablility if they don't have the camera. Beware. Fooling people. They should be removed from Google site.
I wanted to thank everyone for their posts. I have been shopping for a Canon D7 and Delta Camera's was the lowest by a fairly wide margin. I can see why. If they don't include all the stuff necessary for the camera to work then charge you for it on a later contact. Sounds like hostage taking to me! I will shop elsewhere thanks to all of you.
Wow, I can't believe this; I went through all of the same stuff with Delta Camera. I called them to see if they had the desired camera being advertised on their site in stock. They were showing a Canon EOS 7D for $1299 which is a good price; sure enough, their phone salesperson says that the have it "IN STOCK", so I placed my order. I will note that at this time, I also received the same high pressure sales tactics that they other complaints on this site are reporting for Delta Cameras ("battery is only good for 20 minutes - I should get a better one", "memory stick has slow 7 second delay between photos - I should upgrade", etc). I turned those down, but I did pay extra for fast 3 day shipping (big mistake).
I called back a couple of days later, and now they say "the camera is backordered - 1 to 3 weeks". I asked how that happened, since their having it in stock was a pre-condition of my purchase. They said "maybe our computer system wasn't updated yet from the warehouse". Hmm, things are starting to sound suspicious.
So I waited a week and called them back to see if my camera had shipped. But rather than giving them my order number, I simply asked "Do you have the EOS 7D in stock?", they said YES. I said, "GOOD - then have you shipped mine out yet?" (gave them my order number). The sales guy then says "OH! I thought you asked 'Do you have a Nikon Seventy in stock', no we don't have any EOS 7D's in stock yet". Honest mistake, or did I bust them in another bait and switch? You be the judge of whether "EOS 7D" sounds like Nikon 70" and decide for yourself whether they are being honest or not.
All of this made me very suspicious, so I called back to cancel my order. I just hope they
will give me the full credit back, after reading the other complaints here about Delta Camera and the way they charge a restocking fee for any kind of cancellations. Since it never even shipped, I better not see a charge on my credit card or I will escalate with the BBB and Attorney General for their Brooklyn New York area.
I can certainly see what the other customers of Delta Cameras are saying in their complaints about "Bait and Switch Backordering" practices. I would also note that their sales people came across as rude; no 'please' or 'thank you' and in the 5 or so phone calls to them - I never once got a 'good bye' - I just got a 'click' denoting that they had hung-up their phone. I run a web based business myself and would NEVER treat customers like that, and I would have had serious issues if any of my phone support people treated customers the way Delta Cameras talks to their customers.
NOTE: The Whois Record for the www.DeltaCamera.com web address shows-up under the Registrant of "Chama Sarweh" (I'm assuming that he is the owner of the company):

Also, this page shows more problems for Delta Camera and has them also doing business as a bunch of other assumed business names and identities. Also shows photo of a possible false store front for them:

Many thanks for you, everyone here, for your valuable information about DeltaCamera.com.
Owing to your info, I have decided not to try this company.
I decided to buy Canon G11 and found this websit sells it for about $100 cheaper. I am suspicious of the credibility and searched for the review of this company. So, now I have got what I need. Thank you.
Janet at Bethlehem
Thanks a lot, everyone. You saved me a lot of trouble!
I really thank you guys for saving me from such a scam site. I placed an order for canon camera as they had a lowest price advertised. Got an email to confirm the order when I called up, I was on hold for 15 mins & guy who answered the call was so rude & said if you want to place a new order its fine else call tomorrow, we are closed. Its ridiculous, I just canceled my order. This site totally sucks. Stay away guys!
Man, too good to be truth! I was about to place my order for a Sony HD camera, and boom!!!!. I decided to check delta camera on Google, and here I am. I can't believe the are still in business! Come on FTC, do something. By the way I will call them tomorrow and see what happens.
I ordered an LCD projector. Got the "confirming" call during which I was told that the light bulb was only good for 40 hours and I needed to upgrade. I bit and ordered the upgrade. Waited a week for delivery. Called back today to check on delivery and the phone seems to be disconnected. Checked my credit card and I have been charged three times for the item - absolutely fraud. Now I sm disputing the charges. I'd say don't order from here, but since the phone is disconnected, you can't call them anymore.
If you have problems with Delta Camera, notify the NY BBB, and the manufacturer of the product they are misrepresenting (these companies don't like it when retailers make their products look bad.) Don't let Delta Camera get away with ripping you off!

My Story: Saw what I thought was a good deal on a sony hx1 digital camera on the delta camera website, so I placed the order online. John C. from Delta Camera called me the next day and asked me if I wanted a '2 hour or 5 hour' battery with that order. Thinking it was included in the price I had already paid, I opted for the 5 hour battery. He used a phone with a lot of static, so it was difficult to understand anything he was saying (others have reported a similar tactic with this company). It wasn't until he was about to hang up that I tried to confirm that there will be no additional charges. At this time he told me that the battery is an additional charge, and that the 5 hour battery is $70. I figured I would have to pay this no matter where I bought the camera, and agreed. I immediately looked the camera up on the Sony website and found that it comes with a battery lasting about 200 minutes. I called John C. back within 5 minutes and requested to cancel the order. He refused to cancel the order and said that it had already shipped (literally within 5 minutes!). When I double checked the charges on my credit card, I found that he charged me an additional $30 than he said he would.
Today I refused the shipment, and I plan to chargeback with my credit card company. I'm just hoping they won't accept any restocking fees because these worthless scoundrels don't deserve a dime!
I ordered a Panasonic Lumix. They sent me the email to call asap to confirm my order. When I called they tried to sell me a $40-60 battery even though I explained to them that the item is shipped with a 235 minute battery from Panasonic. They said it just comes with a 20 minute battery so I told them to cancel. I called panasonic and verified that they all leave the factory with a 235 minute battery. Stay away from these losers!!
Same thing happened to me today...I tried to order a Canon sx200 camera yesterday. Got a call later in the afternoon and a voicemail to call them back with no specifics. The camera was $244. Pretty good price right? Well, the guy I talked to today said I would need to purchase a battery also. I told him that was dumb and that I wanted to cancel my order. You know what he did? He just hung up on me.
Delta Camera is a SCAM!!! placed order for camera and got confirmation email telling me to call to verify order. i called and was hung up on 3 times! finally, they answered and tried to sell me all kinds of things (batteries etc) that would normally come with camera anywhere else. when i declined they said they'd ship but i had a funny feeling and called back the next day and they said it was on backorder for 2 wk. called today and acted like new customer and asked if my camera was in stock (Olympus Tough 8000). sure enough, he said yes. then i went off and asked why they told me it was backordered when i bought it 3 days ago? he said "the Tough 9000 right? i said no, i said the Tough 8000 - they dont make a Tough (waterproof) 9000. Only a 9000. he then went on to tell me that i did say 9000. Dude, just cancel my order and send confirmation! TOTAL SCAM.
These jerks do need to be shut down- fraud and deception is their operating goal ! stay away or you will regret it.
So with the new d300s out, I thought I would shop around. Come to delta and see it for just over $1000.00. Using my sixth sense, I decide something isn;t right and do a quick google of Delta. Sure enough, it confirmed it. They are bogus. In addition, they are selling the new Canon 5D MK II for the price of what the d300s goes for. That's $1000.00 below retail for a full frame DSLR. How I am glad I did not order through them.
Just cancelled an order for Garmin 855. Ordered on line for best online price I found. Next day received a call telling me it was ready to ship; it comes with 2002 maps did I want to upgrade to the 2007 maps for an added amount or to a 2009 map for even more added expense. I said thanks, cancel my order which they in fact did. I consider it deceptive that this was not disclosed in their "best price" ad and if they are deceptive here *red flag* can one really trust them at all. My advice; stay away!
Just read 18 pages of misery, only to have to add my own! Just received my $2999.99 order from Delta Cameras. The Sony Camcorder is as ordered (but in an unsealed carton), but the $2200 worth of accessories is probably worth $200, tops. The 'quality' lens' are Chinese, low quality, poorly packed junk. The 'heavy duty' case would be better suited to a make-up case. Again, although I ordered the items individually, they came invoiced as a 'bundle'and sending the items back means having to pay a re-stocking fee. Why are Credit Card companies dealing with these thieves? I've raised it with AMEX so let's see what happens, although I can probably guess. Anyone want to buy a 'quality, heavy duty' camera case and 'top quality' lens????
Do not do business with Delta Camera. Placed order for G11 kit for $489. Got e-mail for confirmation asking to call. Rude customer sevice. Got hard sell. Paid over inflated prices for items that come standard in the box. Really expensive SD card and 5hr battery. Should have known better. Camera cost almost $200 more than was stated initially. Too late for me. 25% restocking and aggravation of dealing with them is not worth it and I don't have the time. Need camera for a trip. If it comes and it works I will have to cut my losses. Sucks. Felt it was my duty to tell my bad experience to help others. DO NOT BUY OR DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM.
On Nov 30, 2009, placed order for Canon Rebel XSI, body only. $319. Guess when they say it's too good to be true, it is.
Had it sent ahead of me to California where I will be vacationing, starting tomorrow. Nine days later, hotel has no record of having received it. Checked Delta Cameras website. In "My Account," it says order "processing." Tried to call. No answer. Checked my credit card. No charge was ever made against my account. Scum bags. I'm walking over to B&H now and buying it from a first-rate reputable dealer that I can see and touch.
I ordered a Nikon D90 from these guys and I agreed to accept their $150 16GB SD card and 5 hour battery with 1-hour charger that increased the price by $320, BUT the price of the camera was almost $200 cheaper than most sellers. I confirmed with a "manager" what I was ordering, the price, and the fact that it is a U.S. warranted model and kept the conversation on a recording. In checking their website under my account, it was shipped by UPS and included a tracking number. I was told that I had 7 days to return if not satisfied, so I took a chance, knowing that the Credit Card could always be reversed if any fraud were involved. So far, they have lived up to their promises. I wonder if they are as bad as all the posts? I will post a follow-up when I receive my package on the 14th of December (Monday).
Avoid Delta Camera! AVOID! They should be in jail! I ordered a Panasonic Lumix camera online. The next day, 'Kevin' called to 'confirm' my order and to tell me that the camera only comes with a 20 minute battery--would I like to update to a 5 hr one? I agreed. The camera arrived bundled, original battery in the box,but no additional battery, $100 more than the advertised price, a bundled price as well, not broken out. I called them a week ago to tell them I hadn't received the battery. He said he'd send it out 'immediately'. No sign of it. I'll advise my credit card company.
If everyone who has had bad dealings with Delta Camera contacted the NY State Attorney General office, it might get some attention.
Anyone know a lawyer willing to handle a great class action suit??
I am sick - I ordered a Panasonic Lumix for my son and got the same story about the 20 min battery and no charger - then it arrives but w/charger already in the camera pkg - so I paid extra $100 and now I'm worried is the camera any good?? I don't know anything about the camera so I'm going to take to a reputable camera store (where I should have gone!!!) to have them look at it and now I worry about them having my credit card # - I think I will cancel and get a new card!! I live in Denver - my bank says nothing I can do since I agreed to charges and that I would have to call them to get a return # to verify I returned it before I could try to get my money back - sure like they are going to cooperate for me to do that - I guess I'm just out my Christmas money. They need to be shut down - who can we call to get these guys off the internet!!!
THIS IS WHAT YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING, I COULD NOT HAVE WRITTEN THIS ANY BETTER SO I JUST CUT AND PASTED THIS REVIEW??
THANKS FOR THE CALLS I WAS PROMISED FROM SHIPPING, THANKS FOR A HOUR OF COMBINED HOLD TIME! IF I HEAR JINGLE BELL ROCK AGAIN, I AM GOING TO DRIVE THERE AND SEE YOU,
JOHN

I encountered the same thing most other reviewers did. I was shopping for a good "Cyber Monday" deal on a particular camera for a Christmas gift. These guys had the best price plus free 7 day shipping and some free accessories. I actually had the feeling that it was too good to be true. I should have listened to my gut. The website indicated that the camera was in stock, with something like "ships within 2 business days".
I used an email address that I don't always check, so my wife wouldn't see what I had bought. I just happened to check it after ordering, and saw that I had to call to confirm my order. I have shopped online a lot, and have never seen this before. When I called, the guy asked which battery I wanted, 2 hour or 5 hour? Wow! I get a choice of batteries! He didn't mention that they cost extra until I asked. After I drilled him on it, he did admit that the camera comes with a battery, but it would only last 20 minutes. Right. This isn't my first rodeo, and this isn't the first Canon camera I've bought, either.
When the camera didn't arrive after 12 days, I checked my account online and saw that my order was "processing". I called and was told the camera was on back order for 2 to 4 weeks. He couldn't guarantee that I would have it in time for Christmas. I have to admit the guy was more courteous to me than he apparently was to most of the other reviewers.
Marvelous. So now I may not have it in time for Christmas, and all the "Cyber Monday" deals are gone. Fortunately I checked this website today. I went to their site and canceled my order after reading all these reviews. Thank you to everyone who took the time to expose these a-holes. Since there was no way to print any confirmation that I canceled my order, I am also going to call my credit card company and make sure they don't allow any charges from this company.
Lesson learned: If it seems too good to be true, it
If you return an order from Delta Camera, do not let them charge you the rediculous stocking fee! I had my credit card company do a "charge back" to them. I'm happy to say that Delta got stuck with shipping, and restocking! I told my credit card company my story and referred them to the multiple websites with complaints about Delta Camera. I also had my credit card company change my card number because I don't trust that information with those crooks at Delta! Good luck to anyone having the unfortune of dealing with these scum buckets!
These Guys at Delta Camera aka All State electronic are the Scum OF THE EARTH. I won't go in to all the details because I just got the same Bait And Switch shafting that everyone else on here got. I was out of town on business so my wife took the call from these professional scam artist about the camera not coming with a battery and the need for their special memory card(nock off that doesn't work properly) Unfortunately she fell for it. So the Sony HSC-Dx1 that I ordered for $389 was now going to be $647. I looked on their web site at my account nothing was itemized; just bundle package of $647. I called and talked to Chris he acted confused and couldn't give a break down of what was charged. He then got rude and said that was the price he quoted, even with bogus charges it did not total $647. I was told there would be a 15% restocking fee. When the box came it had been opened and looked well used. There also had been stickers removed from the box. When I called and talked to the manager David he was unbelievably rude and said there is no way they would send a box that was opened. I have never dealt with bigger crooks then these people! I beg you all to please fill out the NY BBB online complaint form and also report them to the Federal Trade Commision 1-877-382-4357. I know it is a hassle, but scum like this needs to be stopped. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DELTA CAMERA, I learned my lesson the hard way!
Just wanna say
Thanks man! I was going to click the checkout button.. but the website's design looked "amateur" so i googled, tried to find some information about the website.. then i found this blog!
I was just about to place an online order when I decided to check google for a discount promo code. Thank goodness I did and came across this blog. I should have known that the price was too good to be true! I should know by now that you get what you pay for, whether it be the product or the service that comes with the product. Thanks to everyone for helping me avoid a big mistake!
Just a free tip for anyone buying electronics. NEVER buy from online, or in a NY location store. Always check the location. There are tons of greay market items in this area( grey market means, asian model or replica) That is why the price is so low... Never buy from anyone that treats you like crap. You will never be happy, and dont buy from these Scammers.
all of you... THANK YOU!!! you just saved my butt from getting scamed
I was about to place an order for a Canon HFS 100 Camcorder Delta's too good to be true price is $409, it is $899 at Tiger Direct, my preferred on line supplier.
I also needed a 32gb SDHC card, Delta's price $274, everywhere else, about $100. I was being set up for a rip off.
I decided to Google Delta Camera and found you folks and your warnings; thank you very much. I did not place the order, Derek.
I found a deal at Delta Camera for a Cannon SX120IS camera. $159 delivered What a deal! I should have known it was to good to be true. I ordered the camera on Nov. 9, 2008 and still don't have it. Everytime I check their web site it says my order is processing. Everytime I call its the same old run around... the cameras are backordered and should be in in about 1-2 weeks. BULL_____! Not only do they lie to you when you call, now I am worred they will (it they ever do) sent me a refurbiished camera instead of a new one. I am cancelling my order today after reading these comments on Delta Camera
Delta Camera is a SCAM!!! Took my money and ran!!! Had to call bank to get my money back.
Wow, am I glad I read these reviews about Delta Camera! I was just about to order the Sony Camcorder HDR-XR150 advertised at a lucrative price of about $150 less than any competitor. From what I can see it would have been a huge mistake, considering the many bad reviews Delta Camera has gotten! Thank you, thank you & thank you again for saving me from a bad experience!
I can not believe this guys are still n business , isn`t there anyone who can stop them ???
I ordered a projector on deltacamera. When I contacted them-I was told that the bulb was EXTRA ! It would be an extra $200-300 ! Who buys a projector w/o bulb. Nowhere on the website did it say their projectors came w/o bulbs !
The beat goes on. I ordered a Panasonic FZ35. The price was about $70 less than any other dealer. Seemed too good to be true. It was.
Five days after I placed the order, I got an email to call and confirm the order. I called and was told my order was missing the security code. I supplied it. He then asked about a battery, SD card, etc. Told him I only needed the camera. Their ad says shipping takes 5 to seven days. I called after 8 days. Spoke to "Russel". He said they were supposed to get a shipment in today. I asked him to confirm one way or another that the shipment had come in. They later sent me an email that it would be one to six weeks before they would have them. I canceled the sale.
I've been looking to upgrade my digital camera & decided to go with the Canon 550d. After doing some research on the web, I came across DeltaCamera & their prices were unbeatable. I was going to sell my old camera to a friend & use that money toward this new Canon. Thank goodness my friend couldn't come up with the money to buy my old one. I showed him the price on DeltaCamera & HE did the research for me & told me not to deal with these scammers.
I ended up selling him my old camera at much less than I was originally asking.
That's what friends are for!!!
you have got to be kidding me...
i was literally just about to confirm my order for 2 of the more expensive digital slr's when i decided to google them. sooooo happy i did. needless to say hundreds of negative responses gave me a hunch that they are a scam. and its true if you look up their address on google maps you will find a deli.
thankyou everyone for saving me!
woooow, i really really really wish i've read this blog before yesterday. =[ i've ran into the similar instances posted here.
Initially ordered a Canon EOS 5D Mark II 16pc Package deal for around $1,220. [with my mother's debit card] Then i received an email to call to confirm my order. I did, then DAVE asked me if i want the plastic body or the magnesium body. i said "i don't understand, it should come in one model from canon" he laughed and said no. and asked "may i ask what this camera is being used for" i was curious why he'd care but said "it's a personal hobby" and he patronizingly remarked, "you know this is for like runway stuff right? it's a very good camera" i said "i know, and even though i'm not very experienced with dslrs, i'm currently taking classes and wanted to start with a good quality camera, besides i really just want it for the hd video feature." and he said "why would you buy such an expensive camera, you should go with the 7D, it's a newer model, costs 200 less and takes full hd video, the mark ii doesn't." i said, "what do you mean, yes it does." he said "no it's an older model, it doesn't take FULL hd" but with the 7d being cheaper and it being a previous interest, i decided to go with it. so now it was supposedly $1,029. and began doing his overcharged battery tactics. said "do you want the battery and charger?" i said "um...yes" thinking it should be included. and he said "Great, that'll be $1,629" and i said "woah what? why?" he said because the "battery $199 and charger is $399" [which is ridiculous because i found one on ebay for 20dollars] and i refused. he became very rude and said "you NEED IT. you're warranty will be revoked and you'll get the chinese model" this was all very confusing to me and i just simply replied "that's fine, i just want the initial advertised priced" and he "misunderstood" and must've thought i said "that's fine" as in accepting his offer and said "that'll be $1629" in a fast tone and hung up. i didn't hear the $1629. he also added that it'll be shipped on tuesday which i thought was strange.
20mins later my mother calls me to let me know that a whopping $1629 has been transacted from their site. it was still pending. i told her to immediately tell the card company to stop the transaction [too late].
i called back immediately to find their site closed. i assumed since they are based in the east coast and i am in the west coast, they must've closed.
i called first thing this morning and explained what happened to another man. he said that dave is at lunch and he'll have him call me back directly.
....
...
10mins later i get a call, and he said "so the guy yesterday sold u stuff u didnt want?" and i began explaining what happened. after i do he replies, "really? that's funny because that was me that took ur order and you said yes when i stated your price was $1629 and i have it on recording." i began telling him that he's cool for that, but if he said that i definitely didn't hear because i would've never agreed to it. and he began raising his tone, being rude and i just said "i'm not trying to argue with you, no matter what happened, i don't care, just cancel my order." he said, "that's fine i can do that but there's a 6% cancellation fee which will come out to 97 dollars"!!! for something i initially didn't want! so i said "no, i'll handle this with my creditors, cancel my order and im not paying a cancellation fee, it's only been a day since i ordered, u haven't even shipped my order." he began yelling something about they were gonna ship it and charge me and i said "i'll ship it right back muhfucker" and hung up.
such an excruciating experience. i actually was thinking about just paying 1629 and receiving it [for it's a good deal anyway] but when i went back on their site, i just couldn't trust them so i googled "deltacamera.com reviews" and found loads of similar stories.
i now have to settle a dispute and may not get my money back for a week or a month or months!
i'm starting college soon and just wanted to start my hobby this summer, guess that's going to be a bigger challenge than i hoped.
im so young and naive for not researching enough first. i hope we saved many ppl from fraud. i will definitely be notifying BBB and Canon.
[DO THE SAME!! DELTACAMERA NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN AND REPREMENDED!]
You folks just saved me $300. Thanks.
Mat.
We just got robbed by these people. Deltacamera.com are just a bunch of thieves. DO NOT buy or deal with this company. Our story is exactly like the others posted. We thought we were getting a deal and ordered a camera Canon T2i package. Then somebody called to insist that we purchase a 5 hour battery for $250 more. We did. What a scam. What comes in the package it's standard, no special battery or charger, and the "deal" accessories are very cheap pieces of equipment, not worth $50 total. We tried to returned but it would be about $200 for re-stocking, mailing, etc., etc. What a rip off!!!!
