Despite the recent crackdown by the State of New York, there are still bait and switch websites operating out of New York. And I’m going to track each one down and report them to the same attorney’s at the NY AG’s office that went after the other websites.
One that is showing up on Google Adwords as a sponsored link is Elite Camcorders ( elitecamcorders.com ). There’s no contact information on their website, but by taking part of the url from a page for a camcorder listed for sale: product_p/panagdvx100b.htm, the only result in Google is DealsonAudio.com. Taking a look at the “about us” page for each sites, you’ll see they are identical. Both sites are operated by one of the worst bait and switch kingpins on the Internet, Simon and Moussa Swed, who operate their flagship bait and switch website, AllStarCamera. Here’s a list of other sites that they’ve used, and detailed information on their various enterprises. Here’s their headquarters. Here’s some reviews on resellerratings, and additional ones for On Time Digital, some of the worst you’ll ever see. These guys are conducting illegal business activities.
One wonders why the State of New York hasn’t shut down these guys yet, but I’ll be focusing on them in the next few months to do what I can to close them down.

goddammit, i was looking to getting a Panasonic AG-DVX100B from there.
thanks for posting this.
Thanks for all your efforts.
I'm pretty certain That Elite Camcorders tried to B&S me by advising that the Canon EOS 5D Mk II they offered for $2249.00 was made of Polycarbonate, and did I want the metal version for a higher price? That Red Flag stopped me as I seriously doubt that Canon makes two versions of this camera. I've emailed Canon USA this morning and I will update you as to their response.
I did buy this camera from Ibuy Digital for $2444.00. I cannot recommend them as they sold me a "Grey Market" version without advising me. Pending Canon USA's answer on Warranty coverage, this camera may be going back. There was no "Official" Canon warranty card in the box. Moreover, they wanted $199.00 for an additional Lp-E6 battery that B&H sells for 84.95. I was charged $99.00 for UPS 2nd day air to Long Beach, CA. I'm about to find out how much the cost should have been and may try to recover any overcharge through my CC provider.
I plan to file a complaint with the New York Attorney Generals office when I have all necessary information.
I asked Canon why they have not stopped supplying these cretins so as to free up inventory for reputable dealers such as B&H. We'll see what if anything they have to say. It is my sincere hope that others will also start to pressure Manufacturers to help stomp out these scum.
Currently elitecamcorders.com has scammed me out of 2,270.00. I canceled my order weeks ago and have not been able to get my money back. I have talked to the manager and he harassed me and was incredibley rude. I have filled out a fraud form with my credit union and am in the middle of battling with the company to get my money back.
Fortunately, I read your website comments about these type of scam artists/sites prior to actually getting my order fulfilled at SupremeCamera.com (should be named SupremeSCAMera.com).
It was an utterly horrible experience dealing with those slime and almost cost me my daughter's Christmas present of a Nikon D60. I took a hint from your Red Hot Deals page and got my camera instead from Amazon.com complete with an extra lense.
One caveat however, Amazon does charge sales tax, at least I had to pay it (WA state) and that added $50 to the price. Still WAY better than anything else out there right now for this popular camera.
These guys need to be stopped.
I called to buy a Nikon 1996 Lens, and I'm sure the salesman switched me to a 1996G(gray market)model,as he tried to get me to buy a warrenty package and some other things that are normally included with the USA model, like a metal mounting ring instead of plastic, carrying case, etc. This was on a Friday. Was told this would ship on Monday. I continued to do some research and concluded that I had been B & S, so called Saturday to get their hours on Sunday.Called Sunday to cancel at 3:15PM, they are closed. Call Monday at 10:10AM, and am told by a surly, arrogant individualthat they close early in the summer(although their afterhours tape does not state that) and that I can't cancel, as it has already been shipped. After some heated words, and my stating that I would refuse delivery, he said there would be a 10% handling fee if I returned. I ask to speak to his super and he said ther guy wasn't in and "would not speak to my type anyway". So I don't know what's going to happen, other then me contacting the Brooklyn NY BBB and the NY State's Attorney General.
