Getondigital is a new website showing up as a Google sponsored link, advertising prices roughly $200 cheaper than established websites. The getondigital.com website provides very little information, and does not include a physical address. (But here's a picture of their headquarters address) The website was created on December 26, 2010.
A search of the "whois" registry reveals the following:

Reselleratings reviews, showing some of the horror stories. In my opinion, many of the reviews look fake. I just ran a search on priceclicks (a terrible, terrible website that serves up many bait and switch websites), and GetOnDigital has the Canon T2i for $264. This price is absolutely, 100% fake. They will never, ever sell you the T2i for $264. Used ones on eBay go for twice that. Don't be fooled. If you've been duped, use Google and search for your state's attorney general's office. Contact them, let them know what transpired. Also contact the State of NY AG's office. If you are in Texas, your attorney general has a record of successfully prosecuting these types of operations.

Thanks, I saw the prices and thought they were too good to be true, you saved me a lot of hassle.
Do NOT shop at this place! They are a scam! I was shipped items I did not order and luckily my bank has flag them as a scam.
Wow, the worst company that I have ever dealt with. I would not recommend them to anyone.
I just wanted to comment here to drive traffic to this site. I know enough about cameras to know that getondigital is a total scam. Stay far away. I did a Nikon D7000 search on Bing and they came right up.
THEY WILL TAKE UR MONEY AND SH!T ON U....SKYPOINTDIGITAL.COM IS WHAT THIS SITE USE TO BE CALLED UNTIL THEY SHUT THAT 1 DOWN CROOKS THEY STOLE MY MONEY.....
I just bought a flash from them and they up graded it. I called and they keep saying try it. I keep getting a Alex. What should I do? HELP
wow, thanks, ditto Rodney....
wow! I so appreciate the time you all took to save me from a scam, thanks!
Thanks a lot! Sadly enough I broke my expensive canon lens, and I wouldn't like to get in even more trouble than I am already in!!! As always I was thinking "if it looks too good to be true, it probably is". And it was for shure...
I ordered a Nikon D90, which I thought was too good of a price--when I got the e-mail telling me to call and confirm the order, I was told "that" overseas version was out of stock (I had no idea I wasn't ordering a USA version) and then was told one of the differences was that the overseas version was all in Chinese! It says nothing on their site about getting items we could not actually use!
Ok now i ordered a nikon d 90 they told me they 4-6 weeks back order that i could pick another camera so i did but get this. I picked 7 different camerS an everyone is on back order unless i get the usa version for 400.00 more. And every time i talked to the same 3 people like no one else works there. Its a woman a 2 guys. And they have caller id i know because after the first time i called they answered hi amanda. An there is no supervisor i asked to speak to one cause they had me so mad an it was the same guy who was tryen to sell me a camera.
i called back to speak to a supervisor again he's out to lunch til 2 so there's only 1. i asked her about all the negative info i found on the internet about them. beingon mcdonald st in ny. yes they re if they are registered with bbb she could not give me an id to check. basicly she has no defense for being registered under 6 different names, she didn't even deny it. if their company is not a scam ill be shocked. i put my money on a pre paid card an nothings been taken yet.
well get on digital called me today so i returned the call i asked if everything was ok with my order he said yes amanda its (even before asking for my order number) i said ok he said as soon as your nikon d90 comes in you'll have it i said that's the wrong camera the guy told me your weren't getting any more of those in nikon didnt make them any more i ordered the new nikon 60D. click he hung up on me i tried to call back an all i got was you have reached get on digital after hours.well iam done with them i have enough common sense to know something is not rite about how they are doing business. to add i did call using another number asking them for a fax number and an adreess well they no longer have an address or a fax the man said. i said to him how do i return something if its broke he said there is a return address label in the box i asked do you know what that address is he said no i dont. is there anything else i can help you with. IF I WERE YOU ID STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. BAD BUSINESS.
I truly appreciate the efforts of everybody by posting their horrible experience with this website. I am also shopping for a canon lens and of course I encountered this website. What really made me suspeciuos is that it does not have a clear business address.I am definitely staying away from getondigital.com. Again thank you guys.
Thank you for saving me some serious headaches and the possibility of losing a lot of money. I appreciate it!
Raymond's comment,
I ordered a camera for $1300($1800 at other websites)from this website.Received an email confrirming but not with detailed invoice like from reputable online merchants. Then GetOnDigital sent me 2 other email telling me I need to confirm. At this point red flags started to go up. I got online and found your site. I called my bank and had them stop the camera purchase and all transactions from GetOnDigital. Then I called Getondigal to cancel the order. The guy was snide and sarcastic. Thanks for the heads up.
YES, DON'T EVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE A SCAM. Just had a horrible experience with this company, the service was nothing but HORRIBLE AND RUDE from the first minute. The guy even called me back TWICE (with their number blocked) harassing and threatening me.
Keep the hell away from these guys! I ordered a Nikon D3100 from their web site which shows some pretty good prices if you want cameras which read in Japanese (according to "Nick" my sales person contact). There's nothing on the site which states that these are cameras with the language in Japanese. So they wind up charging me double what the site states and $50 dollars for insurance on their so called free shipping. What a SCAM! We should all have them investigated.
Gary Said: Thank You, Thank You For This Service, You Save Me A Lot Of Money !!! That I Don't Have.No More Looking For A Cheap Deal I Can't Afford To Get Burnt...
I just bought from this site 2 days ago. I was excited to receive my items. I called them to confirm the order. When I read about your posts about this website, I got scared. I checked my bank account online to see if it has been debited from my account. I called the bank to stop all transactions with these people. Thanks for your posts.
Gemma
Yeah, I too saw the prices, and they seemed too good to be true, so I did a search and found this blog. Thanks for saving me the hassel!
I just got a call (Sun, 5/8/2011 at 11:36a) from "Unknown" who introduced himself as Alex. He said he was calling me to confirm my order of a Canon 50D and asking for the four-digit code on the front of my AMEX card, which I provided.
I'd also received an eMail on Fri, 5/6/2011, saying:
"This email is to confirm receipt of your online order with us. For your security, please call us at 1-888-472-1177, Option 1 to provide a verbal confirmation so that we can ship out your order."
Alex asked if I were replacing another 50D and I said I currently had a 30D. He'd noticed that I didn't order a battery or any lenses. He then told me that the 50D I'd bought was a "replacement" body intended for a repair service to move the BIOS from a damaged camera to this replacement. He asked if I'd rather have the "fully functional" retail version that doesn't need to have the BIOS software transferred to it from a damaged 50D.
I said I wanted the camera that was advertised. He said that both were advertised. Here's what I saw, with no mention of this camera being anything otherwise:

$499.00

If you go to www.getondigital.com and search for "Canon 50D" there is NO OTHER pricing for that body listed but several kits with various lenses.
If you search for "Canon 50D body there are only two listings: the "Camera Body w/1-year USA Warranty" for $499 and the "Digital Camera Kit with Canon 28-135mm lens" for $999.
Alex said he'd look up the shipping date for this camera and then went on to tell me that they were selling the "fully functional retail version" for only $300 more, where this same camera was selling for $1299 from other vendors. I started to say that the 60D was selling for under $1000 from other vendors and the, older, 50D for less but went no further with that discussion.
I said that I didn't really know if this camera would suit my purposes but I'd be glad to evaluate that when the camera arrived and return it if not. He said OK.
Alex never did look up the shipping date. The site promises free ground shipping within 2 days. I'll be alert for any unauthorized activity on the AMEX account and anything other than service as advertized.
If you look at their ratings on NEXTAG, getondigital has a lot of positive reviews. Many posted the very same day, not impossible but very suspicious. They were posted after a negative review. The negative reviews seem legit. Enough for me to stay away from this "store".
A bunch of crooks. So glad that my credit card wasn't charged. I ordered the SB-600 flash for my Nikon camera, a flash which is obsolete. But advertised on their website I got the same email as everybody else. Call to confirm your order, that sounded kind of hookie to me. So I called and the dude made up a bunch of crap trying to sell me another flash made by Vivatar.Never saying they didnt have the SB-600.
Add VersaDeals.com to the list using the 2277 McDonald Ave Brooklyn, NY 11223 address. Here is a complaint (not Me) on them:

I cannot prove it yet, but I would bet that buyherephoto.com is a related company. If I find out for sure, I will update.
I recently placed an order with Getondigital for a Canon Speedlite 580 EX II Flash. When two weeks passed and I had not received my order, I called Getondigital's Customer Service Deparment and was told that the Flash was on back-order. After another week or so, I decided to call once again just to find out exactly when I could expect my delivery. This time a man told me that the Flash was discontinued. He offered to send me a different Flash (Sigma EF 610 DG Super Flash) for an additional cost of $85. When I questioned him as to why no one called to let me know that the item was not available, he angrily told me that I needed to speak to someone in Customer Service, and then he abruptly hung up the phone. This didn't set right with me so I contacted Canon via their website and found out the Speedlite 580 EX II Flash was NOT discontinued! I also checked Getondigital.com to see if the 580 Flash had been removed from their website(since it was supposedly discontinued). Guess what? The Flash was still posted and the price had increased by $95.00
I believe Getondigital's gimmick is to offer a ridiculously low price on specific items just to attract customers, and then they inform them that the item is on back-order. After several days or weeks pass, they attempted to persuade the customer to purchase a similar item at a higher cost (Bait and Switch).
I do not believe they ever intended to sell the Canon Speedlite 580 Flash for $314.00 when it sells elsewhere for $500 or more.
Needless to say, I cancelled my order and will never do business with them again!!!
thanks. criminals
Thank you for this information! I purchased a Canon 60D pkg online today and then noticed that my address info got all screwed up so I called them, only to be connected to a fast-talking upseller who actually argued several points that I know about the camera. Finally, I just got the heebie jeebies about this when he told me the camera did not include a battery (what??) so I cancelled the order right then and there. Then I started digging around to learn more about them, found this blog, and called my credit card company immediately to report any suspicious behavior coming from this site. Horrible!
Thanks looking at a canon d60 on their site thanks for the scam info
I won't go into all the repetitive details, but every bad thing said about them is true and correct.
I got ripped last week by them. This is the first time ever that I have been scammed by internet retailers. I am pissed. Ordered a 700 Hotshoe Flash by Nikon. Was reading my email on my phone when the call to confirm email came in. They told me that the flash that I ordered for my camera was wrong and suggested that I swap to a Vivitar model made for my camera for the same price. When I got home to compare the two, I found out that they got me for about $150 and that the Vivitar model was retailing for around $145...not the original price I was looking to pay for the 700...I called and they gave me a $50 credit and explained to me that if I wanted a full refund, I would have to pay $20 in shipping and a 30% restocking fee... THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At the end of the day, I walk away with one expensive lesson...
WOW!! What a DISASTER!! I too got an email shortly after I purchased. The Guy on the phone was NASTY and RUDE, kept trying to sell me more "stuff" for my purchase. When I said I didn't want to buy anything else, he screamed at me that I should be great full he was helping me!! I got off the phone, looked you up and called them back. The new operator, was Oh so apologetic, and put me on hold to check when it would ship. "It's on back order, and won't ship for 6 weeks, call us in 4 to 6 weeks to verify the shipment". I canceled immediately, called my cc company and requested a new card! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
G'day to all,
when i saw the very low price for the canon 100-400mm lens i was going to do the purchase with "getondigital" but it was almost 6us$600 less than all the other websites,i did google name review plus getondigital and thankfully this blog oped up saved me thanks you all
nalin fernando
Thank you! A classic example of "if it sounds too good to be true it probably is!"
Thank God, I looked up some reviews buying anything from this website. I actualy already place my order on another web company. But my wife served on the web again to make sure we get the cheapest deal. So she saw this deal on GetOnDigital.com.
We almost cancel the order on the other website and ordered on GetOnDigital.com.
But some how I didn't trust is, so I look up some reviews online of this shop. And Thank God again for He is good. And of course thanks to you all. I definitely recommend you to look up reviews of the unpopular, new, not known, web stores.
They're still out there - I didn't look at your reviews and was charged $3600 for a premium $1999 video package.
Wow!!!Thank god I accidentally click on this blog as I was trying to contact GETonDigital to give them my Mastercard # to pay for a Nikon D3100 camera I purchased with my AMEX card this week. I received a email from the company two day later saying they could not complete my order because their AMEX terminal was down and I needed to pay with my mastercard/visa. So, at the time I spoke with them,I did not have my card available. So, today I try to contact them to pay with my Master/visa, I call them after hours. So, that is when I lucked up and came across this blog!!! I and so grateful it was after hours and I was not able to give them my credit card #. I would have been out of $500.00 dollars....
I wasn't so lucky... Bait and switch scam. They get you with a great base price, then call a day or two later to up sell you. The product promised is not what comes in the package. They charge a restocking fee and insurance for the product, which cost more than what they scammed you out of. Lost $220 with them as they sold me a Sigma 70-300mm DG OS, but sent a Sigma 70-300mm DG- price difference is $170 to $540. Please stay away from this company. I called 4 times trying to resolve situation. The last call the supervisor hung up on me.
dont ever order from this site, bull shit... bad order forever, system down forever,
wow....I was ready to place my order tonight and decided to read this blog before I'clicked' on my order.
Thank all of you for saving me this hassle and it's a shame that these sites can still be on the web!
I'll go back to the site that my camera club recommended....
I placed an order on December 14th and have not received my order, I was also not charged for my order. So I decided to do a search on the site... now I wish I would have done it before. I feel like an idiot.
I have received no emails from them and can not get a hold of anybody by phone. I don't know what I should do now... any advice?
Thanks for the advice, I was going to purchase a procamcorder from them....no way now
Thanks, all. I was about to order the "too good to be true" Nikon 3100 package #4 but thought I should check reviews first. I'm so glad I did! Unfortunately, I did register with them for an account, so now they have my email address and a password I use on other sites. Guess I'll have to change the password on those other sites now.
