A new site showing up as a sponsored link on Bing/Yahoo is projectorsandelectronics.com. I'd be careful in doing business with these guys.
Check out their generic about us section. I particularly like the fact that "company name" and "company slogan" haven't even been changed. Where are they located? No way of telling from their website.
Their volusion certificate indicates they are somewhere in Brooklyn.
But most disturbing are their statements regarding positive ratings from Nextag and Bizrate.
They are not, in fact, rated by Bizrate. See here. This, in my opinion, is a huge red flag. I can find no mention of them on Nextag either.

I became a victim of the bait and switch scam also. I too was told that my nikon d-500 camera came with out battery and bought the 4 hour upgrade with the extedned warranty. I became suspisious and checked with nikon directly only to find out that they only ship this camera wiht one battery and charger that I paid to upgrade, i paid for a charge, batery(buy 1 get 1 free,i paid $354,00 and i was charge for 528.95, and i get just 1 extra battery, and the other battery and charge was the originals they remove from my camera case, and say they are send me original from nikon.and the extra battery i just fond on amazon.com for $7.50 i just receve today my camera after several calls to this company. is anithin i can duet about, please.
BEWARE
They have a company sister digitalelect.com They also are scam artists
also beware of thedigitalhunter.com and saveheredigital.com... all part of the same scam.
I called them today to order a Nikon L120. They had the camera for $214.00, a great price. They then started asking me if I wanted to buy batteries, a strap, lens cap...........ALL these things are in the box!!! They apparantly take them out and then sell them to you at grossly inflated prices. I ordered my camera from 17th street photo!
Be warned. We ordered a camera and paid for 3 days shipping. A week later we called and they said they had sent an email requesting order confirmation. This was a ploy to get us to call and let them offer a charger, batter, strap etc. for a couple hundred dollars because "this camera doesn't come with those things." We said no thanks, just send the camera and we bought the accessories through Amazon for $60. 2 weeks later the status said processing for shipment, we called and they said it would be on back order for at least 2-3 weeks. We believe now that because we didn't pay for the "extras" we would not have recieved the camera. Their customer service sounded like a guy working in a garage, he answered the phone "hello" and was rude. After some more research we found this and plenty of other sites that warned against them. We canceled the order, put a stop payment on our credit card and ordered new cards just to be safe.
Yes indeed, I too got the bait. Luckily I became suspicious after everything I tried to order was on back order, 3 weeks, and so I checked online for complaints. Sure enough, I ended up here on this forum (wish I checked BEFORE ordering). I promptly ordered a new credit card and attempted to cancel my order (which the website wouldn't allow). Thanks for the warning everyone, hope others see this useful information.
this companys web site is related to website for n4digital which also has bad reviews as bait and switch.....
I've never written a comment about any business before but this company really infuriated me. It was my fault that I didn't check the reviews first, I just wanted to buy a camera that was $50 less than most sites. I should have known better. I ordered it yesterday and today I received an email to call them to verify my order. I called and spoke to a man, he stated that the camera is out of stock x 2 weeks, said to call back if I wanted to cancel it and abruptly hang up on me. Within just a few minutes I called back because I had a funny feeling about the customer service, the same man answered the phone and I explained that I just called recently and decided to cancel my order, he said "ok" and didn't give me any confirmation # for cancellation so I was a bit worried. So I said to the man, "That's it then?", he replied, "What do you want me to do, sit here and ...", so I said to him, "I'm glad I cancelled my order because you have terrible customer service." Then he said, "So are you happy now?", so I said, "No, you have wasted my time and I'm really mad. He hung up on me! I'm pretty pissed!
They are criminals, I gave them credit card data and cv2 number and then realized something was wrong. I found this website and then I called my bank and canceled my cc and then got a new card. I avoided getting ripped off. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!
Big Scam. Ordered the Nikon L110. Great price on the website. Should have known it was to good to be true. After I ordered it, I received an email asking to call them. Once I did, the guy asked why I bought the imported model verses the USA model? I said, I didnt know there was an imported model. He said, yeah the model you purchased was imported from Turkey and all the instructions and camera function are in Turkish. The USA model was an additional $50. I said, no thanks and canceled my order. He also tried selling me expensive batteries when this camera takes standard AA batteries. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM>>>>>>>>>
I want to cry because I didn't find this site sooner! I'm trying to return the camera and all the extra crap they talked me into because the camera I ordered did not come in the color I selected and is damaged, the "free" case has some sort of mold on it, and the battery was just floating around in the box! And I too was told to call customer service and give CV2 number and then was told I should upgrade battery and charger came seperately. I'm so pissed right now I could puke! I've been given an RA to return the camera on my own dime and have been ordered to insure the camera also. Out of the $257 I spent I'll only be getting back about $200 because I'm supposed to pay for their shipping and 15% restocking fee!
They wanted me to pay extra for a battery and charger that comes with the camera. When they knew that I knew what they were up too, the guy insluted me annd was happy when iI cancelled the order
I just found a Nikon P500 Digital Camera on the Projectorsandelectronics.com website priced for Black Friday at $269. When I called them and asked what the camera came with they said "nothing". I asked, what about a battery and they said No. I then was suspicious as the website doesn't say what is included with the camera. I called Nikon and they informed me the camera ALWAYS comes with a battery and also that since these guys are not Authorized Nikon Dealers, they would not likely honor the warranty (Gray Market Vendor is what they called them). I found the same camera at Costco for $316 after $50 Rebate and for $50, I think avoiding getting scammed and staying with reputable people is a great idea. Just becasue these guys have ads, non't make them Legitimate. LET THE BUYER BE WARE...........
Thank you for all the comments! Was just looking at the Nikon Coolpix S8100 with cmos sensor and was surprised to see the price of 129.00 (in the paper for 149.00 today). Was really thinking about this purchase and then read the reviews. Again thank you for taking your time to let people know the truth!
I also fell for the low price, then called and rude guy talked me into a battery, charger and SD card that already came with the Nikon P500. When I figured it out after looking at Costco site, I called and cancelled the order, the guy was horribly rude and insulted me, said he would charge me $40 to cancel (which I will dispute) Next time I'll be checking the reviews first!
I read AllStateCamera is the same company. I found the site, and the camera I was interested in was significantly cheaper than anywhere else. I called and asked if their cameras were new or refurbished. I was told they were new. I then ordered a camera online. I immediately got an e mail to call customer service regarding my order. I called and was told the camera did not come with a battery, and did I want to order one? I was also then informed that the camera was the Japanese model, and all the instructions, etc were in Japanese. This was NOT mentioned online as I read everything. The camera with English instructions was $80.00 more. The ONLY camera that came up when I searched was the cheaper "Japanese" model.
I cancelled my order. How are these people still in business?
Also doing business as COMPUDEALS2U.COM, I believe. Total scammers. Ordered Canon SX40 digital camera and jumped to order on line because it was in stock and $30 cheaper, lens kit incl, no shipping and no tax. 2 weeks went by, no contact. Everytime I tried to call no answer. Company hours closed, please call me.
They then sent 2 very generic emails to call. The I tried tracking order thru their website and after 2 weeks it said "processing". No info was ever available about my order after almost 3 weeks! Trusted my gut, sent them very stern email saying to CANCEL my order immediately, told them any charges to my credit card would be blocked my my bank and if they tried to put thru I would contact attorney genl and states attorney's offices. They THEN sent a generic email asking me to call. So I did. After waiting 5 mins on hold some guy oicked up and when I said hello, hung up on me. I then called back and after a couple of mins another guy picked up. Told him who I was and he asked for my zip code and told me they need the security cod to put thru the charge to my credit card. I said I cancelled order do nothing! He quickly said "Ok, order is cancelled, and I hung up on him.
BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got lucky and cut it off before getting taken (I hope)
Thank all of you so much for your comments.....I was able to cancel my credit card before they put the charges to it. I have always been told....it the deal looks too good to be true, it probably is. Thanks again.
I just hung up from a conversation with compudeals2u.com. Yes, it's a scam. I received an email to call to "confirm" my order. I had ordered an S8100 for $149.00 with "free shipping". Then I was informed that the packing and handling was $14.95. Also, it's not a standard Nikon package as it does not have the charger adapter (extra) and the battery (extra). I told them that the description was misleading and to just cancel the order. I hate doing business with scam artists like this. Now to see if they really cancel the order. What a crock of crap.
Just like everyone else on here the same thing happened to me. I wanted to buy the Nikon AW 100 for my husband and I received an email saying I needed to verify my order. I called and they said I didn't buy a battery or charger and it would be $100 for the battery and $40 for the charger. I said I would call back. Then I called and said I wanted to cancel and they said it would be a 20% cancellation fee and they hadn't even charged my card yet. Their site says 15% if they have processed and charged your card. I told the person on the phone I was on to their scam and just to send it to me by Christmas. A few minutes later I received a call from the manager who asked me how it was a scam. I explained that nothing on the website states that the battery and charger aren't included and your sales person lied when they said no one includes those things. He said he thought I was the scammer and I probably stole someone's credit card to buy the camera. Why would I be concerned with a cancellation fee if I stole the credit card??? Then he said he would cancel my order for free. I told him if he charged one cent to my credit card I would make sure to have him arrested for theft and fraud and report him the the BBB. He then told me that was fine and also told me I was free to call the President of United States. I hung up on him at that point. What a joke.
I too became a victim. I ordered a camera as a Christmas present on 11/29/2011. Called them the following week to confirm the order when they tried to sell me a battery and charger for the camera. The description didn't say anything about this. I refused to buy from them for the offered price of $49 or $59 and purchased from Amazon instead for $20 and it included more items. I asked them when the item would be shipped as I was concerned about it getting here in time for Christmas, and they said within 7-10 days it would be shipped. 7 days later, I called back to tell them if they couldn't ship it that day, to please cancel my order and the customer service guy (if that's what you want to call him) was very rude and said ok your order has been cancelled. The customer service guy, both times I called was very very rude and non-caring. I was on hold for over 25 minutes. So although their products might be cheap, their customer care and shipping departments leave a lot to be desired.
I would recommend you NOT do business with this company!!!!!!!
I also was a victim of their "bait and switch after ordering a Canon powershot SD1400IS. I received an email the day after my order was placed asking for confirmation. I was hesitant about calling since "they" gave me a confirmation number when I ordered mentioned nothing about my order number or my customer ID number given to me during the order process. I received an email from them every day for three days and was instructed in each to contact billing. I then went to their website and checked my order status after giving them more of my information to "sign in". IT stated the status was being processed. I then called and what a bait and switch! No battery with camera, camera only used japanese instructions. When I asked why this information wasn't on the sale website the individual, who never identified himself, stated they don't have to divulge that information. He then stated that he only had a black body SD1400IS and I told him to cancel the order because I wanted the pink body as a gift. He stated that I would be sent another email confirming the cancellation and hung up. This was a classic "bait and switch", even more so by getting nasty when I questioned the veracity of their ad page.
I ordered online two Nikon L120 camers at $184.00 each, a great price. They then called to get my CV number and asking if I knew the camera came with out batteries and asking me if I wanted to buy recharger and batteries. Bottom line they upgraded the batteries and quoted a low prie then turned it into a bundled deal which doubled the prie of the charger and batteries. When I called after reeiving the package, like all of you the customer service guy was DOWN RIGHT HOSTILE AND RUDE. I wished I'd seen this site before hand, I'LL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS OMPANY AGAIN AND WILL LET EVERYONE I know through email about them and their service and ripoff tatics.
I became a victim of this scam also. I ordered a Canon S95 and when I got it, the camera was all plastic and when I questioned them, they said it was the one made in Turkey. I sent it back and had to pay restocking and shipping. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS>
Well what can I say - I will have to join the "caught out too" club, my experience same as most of you, confirm order then trick you into thinking you need everything else then nill customer service afterwards. I hope this time I learn my lesson and google a "to good to be true company" before I make a purchase from them.
I too had a similar experience with this company. I just filed a complaint with the BBB. Kelly
Has anyone got a physical address for this company? I need the address to complete the complaint I filed. The one on the certificate is not legitimate (go figure). So if anyone returned what they bought can you post the address on here? Thanks.
I ordered a Nikon Coolpix S9100 camera through Projectorsandelectronics.com at their listed price of $179 on January 27, 2012. The next day, a man named Jerry, from that company called and asked why I wasn't getting a battery and a charger to go with it. I told him that, to my knowledge, all Nikon cameras are boxed with both a battery and a charger. He said "No". This was not so. That it would cost me another $30 for the battery and charger. I wanted to cancel the order but he convinced me the $179 was a very good price and the extra $30 still kept it reasonable. So, I agreed to pay the extra $30.
The camera arrived Feb. 7, 2012. The package included not only a battery and a charger, BUT a Bower canvas camera case and a Zeiks accessory kit that I neither ordered nor wanted. I was shocked at the bill for $244.95--a full $65.95 more than the price I originally agreed to and $36 more than the cost of the battery/charger.
I called Nikon which confirmed my original belief that Nikon S9100 cameras come with both a battery and a charger.
Efforts to call the company (877) 336-6602 left me hanging on the telephone waiting for someone to pick up. I finally called American Express to filed a complaint. AMEX gave me a different phone number for the company (888-414-3775). I called that one to see how I would go about returning the entire order. There is no address listed anywhere on the Invoice or on the Projectorsandelectronics.com site, although there was a return address on the mailing box. I spoke to a man who actually had the gall to claim that returning the order would hurt my credit rating with American Express. (Note: not "could" but "would"). I then asked about returning the camera and accessories and was told it would cost me 15% "Restocking Fee".
I immediately called back American Express and reported the entire conversation. AMEX (with whom I have an excellent credit rating) told me they'd already initiated an investigation of my earlier complaint. After reassurances from AMEX, I decided to keep the camera (and the battery and charger which I consider part of the $179 order) because I refuse to pay the re-stocking fee. I am returning the case and the kit because I neither ordered nor want them and see no point in paying for them.
FYI: The return address listed on the box is an entirely different company name (which I took to be the shipper):

This Company is a crap bunch to do Business with. It was Bait and switch, add ons etc. price offered was great, first flag, then the e-mail that they are out of the color you wanted. The Guy said his name was peter, doubtful, so we get into it with name calling, cussing, bad deal. Stay away from this bunch. Now I have to wait to see if they scam my credit card!! jack
I have cheked with Panasonic, and find out that my camera comes with battery and charger, for what i was charge extra $$$
Scam company.Stay away.
They posted low price on csmera and tryed to insure me,that camera comes with no battary and charger.
Shame on them.
I saw the camera I like from this site, the Nikon P500, with a good price $264.00. I made a call to ask for more information about the package because I read the ad it said "free shipping", "free camera bag"... The guy was very rude. I asked him if there is any damage from shipping can I send it back? He said "Return it to Nikon company"! Thanks to these comments
I stop thinking about ordering anything from this website.
Thulin Nguyen, San Marcos, CA
I ordered a camera that I was looking for at a really good price, and when I called to confirm the order, the guy asked if I wanted the overseas model or the USA model. The one that I wanted for $159 was all in Chinese (instructions/icons on the camera) & the USA model was in English, and cost $70 more. When I asked what the deal was, I was told "what do you expect for such a low price" by a very rude man. I cancelled the order (hopefully).
For those posting who feel that they have been been scammed follow this link

Also complain to the Attorney General's Office in your state.
I order a conon from their website and I called them if they have that item in stock. That guy told me yes they have it stock and also
told me some item will come with it free .It is in their web site that with purchase with any camera all those stuff will come free.Their price shows below than any other web site.So i call and make sure that they have it in stock and then order the items. And next day they emailed me saying that they dont have it in stock and I have to wait 3 weeks for the item otherwise I can cancel the order. Then I had to cancel it coz I didn't want to wait for it for 3/4 weeks.Which also was an scam. Then I called their number and they cursed me said me you indian low life, which i am not but felt extremely racist act.I never faced this kind of situation ever.So i decided to spread it over the web and let other customers know that they are scam abd be careful to deal with them with your credit cards. No means you can trust them.
I just want to thank everyone on this blog for helping me not go through this. I was about to order from this company until I read all your comments. Thanks Dave and everyone else.
Highly rude to their customers! I have called twice for the same request and the "Owner/Order Taker/Office Manager/Phone Operator" and so on, has made me feel like "I" am an interruption to his day! The camera that I purchased is broke! When I ordered it, "he" also told me that the battery was NOT inlcuded. I paid an extra $60.00 for a battery that I did not need! Steer clear of this business!!!
stay away from this company. very bad. They will cheat you every chance they get.
I also want to say thanks for this blog....I just about ordered from these guys! I couldn't get the product code to enter correctly during my check out so I called their number for assistance...wow when the guy answered, I'm pretty sure he said "what do you want"!!! I immidiately searched their name & found this blog that confirmed what I was feeling. Thanks for helping me save some of my hard earned $$
I also became victim of this terrible scam company. Never and I mean never order anything from them. You have been warned.
I ordred a Nikon S9100, at $139 including free shipping. A few days later...received an email asking for confirmation on order by calling them. I immediately replied to the email to cancel my order. I told them that they were a scam oufit. This happended to me a few years ago, I got rip off about $100 for a camera deal by foolishely calling them only to be high-pressured into buying things i don't need. Stay away from these scum bags. Also cancel your credit card.
Terrible company...Unfortunately, I did not see this site until after I purchased two cameras from Projectors and Electronics. I ordered from them online because their prices were just slightly less than other vendors. The following morning, I got an email saying I needed to call and confirm my order. When I called Peter asked me why I hadn't purchased batteries. I said, "I did, but I ordered them through Amazon where the price was so much better. Peter convinced me those batteries would not be as good, because they aren't original manufacturer's...He told me he had 5 hour original manufacturer's batteries, and that he would give me a greatly reduced price, even better tha the two for one advertised on their site. Having bought a cheap battery in the past that did not hold a charge, I believed him, and ordered two extra 5 hour manufacturer's batteries per camera. When my order arrived, there was only one extra battery per camera, and those were not in factory sealed packaging, so I suspected they might not even be new batteries. They also sent me the wrong color of camera. There was also a disparity in the total that I was charged. I called twice, and when I finally got to speak with Peter, he told me that the two missing batteries were the ones in the camera's boxes. I said that is not the case-I even double checked with the manufacturer, and each of those cameras come with batteries in their boxes. The cameras were not listed on their website as open box. Additionally, the overall total I was charged was higher than the total arrived at by adding the items prices I had been given by Peter, even if they had included everything I was charged for. I had actually agreed to purchase one highspeed battery charger because when I travel it is nice to be able to charge multiple batteries at one time. I had offered to buy another high speed charger for the other camera, but Peter had assured me that the one in the box was so fast I wouldn't need it. When I talked to the manager he claimed part of the disparity in the total bill was that charger in the Canon box. I said that is a standard included charger. The manager said their cameras were wholesale items and did not include the charger or batteries. However both boxes listed those items as included in the box. Neither camera was factory sealed. They did say that I could exchange the black Olympus for the blue one that I ordered. Since I Peter and the manager claimed I had paid seperately for the battery that was in that box, I opened the box to get that battery out. At that time I noticed the USB cable and battery charger that computer generated label showed as being in the (not original manufacturer)box were not in the box. Having looked more closely at their return policy...everything has to be in the box in order to return it, but the box didn't arrive with all the labled items, so it creates an impossible situation for the consumer. To top things off, when I finally opened the Canon and took the lense cover off for the very first time, there was a pre-existing mark on the lense! This was either an item that the manufacturer would consider as a second, or someone else had previously received the camera and returned it. The original sales person and the manager have been extremely rude, and even resorted to calling me names. This is the most disreputable company I have ever dealt with on the Internet.
projectorsandelectronics.com is the worst online business ever. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM....bait & switch low rates, rude service bboth online & over the phone. the manager is a complete tool

Beware. This 'company' is a SCAM. If you have already been unfortunate to have ordered from them then stop payment immediately. Call your credit card company and start initiating a dispute. These scam artists will eventually have to change their name once again or go hide in web world in other ways looking for more victims. Do not be afraid to stop them. Do not give in for any reason. Everything bad that you read here is very probably true. They must be shut down. Do not sign any return agreements either. Let the credit card company handle them.
