Scam Alert: Compudeals2u

There is an indication that compudeals2u is the newest alias for the folks over at projectorsandelectronics.com.  The site is registered to Jack Sarwa, per Goddady.  He lists a phone number of 267-338-1440 and an address in Pennsylvania.  The only Jack Sarwa I could find is in Brooklyn.  It should be noted that a Victor Sarwa, also out of Brooklyn, is listed as one of the operators of some infamous Brooklyn websites.  Check out this link.  The PriceGrabber link doesn't work.

Looks like they are doing the "no battery" scam, per this link.   More stories here.  Check out their "privacy" page where they've buried some really onerous terms...7 day return policy, 15% restocking fee, etc.

Sloppy, sloppy website.  Note that they haven't replaced the "Company Name" and "Company Slogan" text.  They've also left the name Emicrox.com in.
I'd be very careful dealing with these guys.

Update: Okay, so I just confirmed that Compudeals2u is operated by the same people that run allstatecameras.com and projectorsandelectronics.com.  I've narrowed down the current bait and switch sites to just a few operations and I'm working on a detailed expose to finally rid the Internet of these criminals.

I just bailed on a camera purchase. The price was a bit too good to be true, so I searched the name of the company and found lots of useful info. Thank you for getting the word out.

"I purchased a Nikon camera for $149.00 because they had the best price. I got an phone call five (5) days later along for the 3 digit code from the back of my card. I told him I had no way to confirm who he was so I wasn't giving the number out over the phone. He then asked why I had an attitude. I replied I had no attitude and I would not give him the number. The sales rep was very rude so I told him to cancel my order as well as giving him a few choice words not fit for print, and I hung up.

After hanging up I called my CC company, blocked the purchase in case they tried to put the order through anyway, canceled the card and ordered a new one.

www.compudeals2u.com is a SCAM, plain and simple. This guy is a total butthole and ought to be in jail for what he is pulling. Do your due diligence and order fron a trusted, reputable source.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCUMBAGS. Ripped me off on shipping. Lied about ship date and wouldn't give me a tracking number for 3 days. Asked for a refund for the shipping and I was verbally assaulted and ended up in a shouting match with this creep. I think it's run by some drug dealers in garage in Brooklyn. That's the impression they left me. I reported them for a number of infractions to the BBB.

This is a follow up to my previous complaint #8852118 against compudeals2u.com. After receiving the camera I ordered from compudeals2u.com, and

after writing my initial complaint, I opened the package. The camera did not come in the retail box and I suspect it is refurbished. Inside the box

was a Vivitar battery. The camera I purchased is a Nikon S8100. I called "customer service" and spoke with someone who claimed his name was Peter. I

asked him why my Nikon camera came in a plain box with a Vivitar battery. He gave me a convoluted "answer" about how the cameras don't come with a

battery or charger, but I ordered the U.S. model which comes with a battery. When I continued to ask why there is a Vivitar battery I was not given

an answer, I was only asked "do you want to return the camera or what?". When I continued to ask about the product he told me that they buy the

cameras separate and then package them themselves. When I continued to press for a reasonable answer to my question I was told "forget it, we don't

want to do business with customers like you. Return the camera that's it!". I asked to speak with a manager and he told me "NO." Later he told me

the manager was listening on the other line and was "laughing his *Word Rejected*off." He told me that it says that the camera doesn't come with a

battery or charger in the item description on their website. I told him that this is not true. NOWHERE ON THEIR WEBSITE DOES IT SAY THAT THE NIKON

S8100 DOES NOT COME IN RETAIL PACKAGING OR THAT IT DOESN'T COME WITH A BATTERY, OR THAT IT COMES WITH A REPLACEMENT BATTERY FROM ANOTHER

MANUFACTURER. I told him that was deceptive marketing and he told me that the customer "should know that it doesn't come with a battery." How is the

customer supposed to assume that??? When purchasing a camera from any retail outlet they always come with a battery unless advertised otherwise, or

unless the product is listed as "refurbished" and lists what is NOT included in the packaging. There are so many complaints from your dropdown list

that apply to compudeals2u.com. It was almost impossible to choose one. Complaints about their bait & switch and deceptive practices are emerging

all over the internet. It has been exposed that the "positive reviews" from their website are linked to another business. These guys need to be shut

down before more people have to experience this scam.

Hi, if anyone is still following this blog I just wanted to let you know that I submitted two complaints to Pricegrabber.com and received this response today:
The owner of the site ‘Compudeals2u’ is registered with PriceGrabber as ‘IT Ware’ we have asked this seller to solicit feedback for his sales. We have removed his listings until he has acquired enough feedback for his recent sales. We have also requested that they remove the PriceGrabber logo from their site Compudeals2u.com. We are looking into the credibility of this seller and we appreciate you notifying us and providing feedback.
